SYSTEM MIGRATION

  • Many systems needing upgrades or replacement are replaced in total, which means a large investment in either a technology or a company that is not fully known at the time.
  • There are many ways to move from one system to another without throwing the old investment away in its entirety.
  • WEB servers providing access to the Legacy systems can accommodate new technology and incorporate the new technology with the older legacy equipment. This presents users with the look and feel of one system.
  • As legacy equipment begins to fail, just the affected equipment can be replaced with new technology equipment. Over time, as budgets allow, this migration can be completed with the eventual result that you have a whole new system with “open” technology components as well as an overall “open” system.

INTEGRATION OF MULTIPLE PRODUCTS AND PROTOCOLS

  • The Tridium Web server or the Plexus Web server allows ESCO to integrate various brands of products into one system with the look and feel of one system.
  • Various protocols, e.g. LON, BACNET, Modbus, INET can be integrated into one system.
  • ESCO won a national award for integrating into one system – 5 manufacturers and 3 protocols. The resultant front end displays all of these into one graphic look with no need to switch between either manufacturer or protocol.
